Grace is an Appalachia raised and trained herbalist with over two decades of study, experience, and practice in 'the field" of plant medicine. She completed certification in herbal medicine at the NC School of Natural Healing in 2000 and has studied and trained with many renowned herbalists and midwives including Aviva Romm, Susun Weed, Jeannine Parvati Baker, Rosemary Gladstar, Whapio Bartlett and Rosita Arvigo; as well as volunteered in Guatemala with local medicine makers at Maya Traditions. She is a co-founder of the Indiana Chapter of the American Herbalists Guild and served as president for 3 years. In 2011, Grace became a Registered Nurse in pursuit of taking her herbal medicine practice to a more clinical setting. She worked for several years at the Center for Wholism before starting Monarch Apothecary in 2014.  Grace is also a certified advanced holistic doula through the Matrona, and a master Reiki practitioner. She is mom to three grown children and she and her family currently steward Moon Valley Farm where they grow food and medicinal herbs for their local community. Grace offers herbal consultations, workshops and courses, and the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy at her farm based apothecary and locally in Southern Indiana at Thrive (Bloomington), Choices Wellness (Martinsville), and Inner Light Holistic Health and Wellness (Bloomington) . She offers these modalities with respect and a strong passion for women's health and nurturing plant/human relationships.
