Grace is an Appalachia raised and trained herbalist with over two decades of study, experience, teaching and clinical practice in 'the field" of plant medicine. She completed 400hr certification in herbal medicine at the NC School of Natural Healing in 2000 and has studied and trained with many renowned herbalists and midwives including Aviva Romm, Susun Weed, Jeannine Parvati Baker, Rosemary Gladstar, Whapio Bartlett and Rosita Arvigo; as well as volunteered in Guatemala with local medicine makers at Maya Traditions. She was a co-founder of the Indiana Chapter of the American Herbalists Guild and served as president for 3 years. In 2011, Grace became a Registered Nurse in pursuit of taking herbal medicine further. She worked for several years at the Center for Wholism with an integrative doctor of Internal medicine before starting Monarch Apothecary in 2014.  Grace is a certified advanced holistic doula through the Matrona, certified cupping therapist and master Reiki practitioner. She is mom to three grown children and her family currently steward Moon Valley Farm where they grow food and medicinal herbs for their local community. Grace offers herbal consultations, workshops and courses, and therapeutic bodywork at her farm based apothecary studio and locally in Southern Indiana at Thrive Bloomington. She offers these modalities with respect to elders and teachers of each lineage with a strong passion for holistic approaches to women's health and nurturing plant/human relationships.
